Question for Bloggers: Should I Go Beta?

I'd appreciate your thoughts: should I finally go to Blogger Beta? I'd heard some unfavorable reviews of the Beta version early on. Is it worth changing? Please let me know your thoughts, here or offline.

I switch and I have had no problems so far. I think it is great!

Fr. Peter. But be sure to save all of your links somewhere. You will have to re-do them all. Other than that the new set up makes blog management a lot easier.

Save ALL my links -- as in every link that appears anywhere in my blog? Or just the links on the left-hand side?

It was "automatically" switched for the blog that I manage for a local nature protection group. Main problem at start was language - no more French. Our course, this only matters us, non-Anglos'.
But I discovered other disadvantages, mainly with the layout. You indeed better save your layout - a .txt ascii file will just make fine.
It seems to me, but that's personal, that indeed it's a little faster and they are more gadgets for the maintenance (but I don't lose my time using them). But what I'd prefer, the real "cut'n paste" of a page, pictures included, is not yet possible. Would make huge time sparing.

Last but not least, if you have the habit of going sometimes on other's blog hosted by blogger, the blogger ID of a "beta" cannot log onto a "non-beta" to write messages. This is a real setback, imho.

As I was saying before Blogger so rudely interrupted me and asked me to log in when I was already logged in, and when I tried to long in again told me that my username and password didn't match (I opened my Google mail account, and logged in there, and bibngo, they suddenly matched, but wy should one have to go through such a schlep)...

Lots of things don't work in Beta, even though they tall you all the features work, don't believe them, they don't work!

"Blog this" for example, does not work, so one of my blogs, "Simple links" came to a grinding halt when I switched.

Wait till they've fixed the bugs before switching.

I would go with the free hosting package at Wordpress.com. The Wordpress platform will provide you with far greater flexibility as well as an esier to use/develop platform. Wordpress does a real nice import of all your Blogger posts and comments.

It's worth a look...
