Anti-Orthodox Target the Western Rite
Some (and not all that many) of our Eastern Orthodox brethren claim we're not as Orthodox as they are.; however, our mutual enemies offer no such quarter. A hideous website called "Ex-Orthodox for Christ" has a rambling and incomprehensible post (which seems dedicated to seeing how many times it can repeat the word "wafer") excoriating the Western Rite.
We may only be "only in the narthex" of the Church in the minds of some, but we're in the crosshairs of those who hate Orthodox Christians all alike.

Ex-Orthodox for Christ is a very... er... special website indeed.
These people can't be ex-orthodox unless they came from the pseudodox. First of all they completely dismiss oral tradition and they think with their legalistic prot thinking. I'm just amazed that they don't demand proof the Jesus existed. That and they can't have looked very hard for "documents" like St. Justin Martyr. But hey a bunch of self declared ultra-infallible super popes each with their own interpretations can't be wrong can they? They're a bunch of evangelical hucksters who want your money. Even if Bishop Callistos Ware did show them the proof it wouldn't be good enough for them anyway.
Oh yeah, we faked the Resurrection too. ugh
Why is it that hateful people like this always make really ugly web sites? Couldn't they learn just a little CSS? It might lend them a bit of credibility that I am sure they need, and it would make it easier on my eyes.
Okay, that's enough sarcasm for me.
I am Roman Catholic, and I find the "ex orthodox for Christ" website to be reprehensible. How they can be "for Christ" and against Christ's teachings, I do not know. It's disgusting.
I feel that this website is run by former EO-now RCs. The tone and the "usual" rhetoric indicates so. I have yet to come to any Evangelical Protestant website which disses Orthodoxy as they always have an issue with Catholics. I have seen one or two websites which diss Orthodoxy but their arguments are very stale and nothing interesting.
Apart from that, I doubt that some of them are even aware that Orthodox Christianity exists in the first place. They'll go, "they say they're Christian but they worship like Jews?"
I didn't look too far, randomly coloured and highlighted phrases are too off-putting, but I never take seriously anything claiming to be serious that doesn't have real names, church affiliations, etc. I suppose, though, if you're not terribly well educated and you go to some barmy little house-group where 90% of the congregation are the pastor's kids, etc, then an anonymous website is the best you can do.
Collin,
They're not RC at all. There are also anti-Roman pages on that website as well.
Wow. I just...
I am speechless.
That was an incredible site..
