The Episcopal-less Church

Some 36 ballots later, and Tennessee still doesn't have a successor to its retiring bishop.

The agony of a "democratic" episcopacy begs the question of whether this is at all an appropriate way to run a church. Democracy in ALL places is struggling against an uninformed electorate...but here the problems seem to have particularly pronounced and unintended costs in changing the institution. Begs the question of whether the process sees the church's role as serving man (us sinners) or as serving god?
